Banff Sunshine Meadows Rock Isle Lake, July Flower Season. It’s official—Sunshine Village has opened its 8-person gondola, Standish high-speed quad chairlift and for the first time ever, the Sunshine Mountain Lodge for hiking, sightseeing and staying in the summer of 2017! Beat the Banff crowds and stay 7,000 ft. above ordinary at Sunshine Village. Ride the Standish Express Sightseeing Chairlift to over 2,400 m (7,875 feet) – the highest Gondola / Chairlift access sightseeing elevation in the Banff and Lake Louise area – and experience 360-degree views of the Rocky Mountains that surround you. From there, catch even more breathtaking scenery from the Standish Viewing Deck and take in the view of the three high-alpine lakes: Laryx, Grizzly and Rock Isle. Be sure to grab lunch and a cold beverage at the infamous Mad Trapper’s Smokehouse or opt to take a picnic lunch. In the evening, once the lift and gondola close, enjoy dinner in the Chimney Corner restaurant then go for a soak in our 40-person hot pool (the highest in the Banff/Lake Louise area at 7,200 feet!). Afterward, lay your head down in one of the Sunshine Mountain Lodge, a boutique style lodge with 84 rooms, all with breathtaking views and modern amenities.
