Five tonnes prove skiing is at its best
Sunshine to hold annual Snow Dump on Stephen Avenue
Banff, Alta. – Winter's over, but the skiing isn't.
In fact, spring skiing is in its prime. And we've got five tonnes of Canada's Best Snow to prove it.
Sunshine Village will dump five tonnes of snow on the Stephen Avenue walkway on Monday, April 20th as a gentle reminder that the sunniest skiing and riding in Canada is just 90 minutes away.
Festivities will include an appearance by the Coors Light Girls, courtesy of our partners at Molson, and a draw for a pair of lift tickets for onlookers.
"Don't even think about pulling out your golf clubs," says Doug Firby, Associate Director of Communications. "Not when you have blue-bird days, our rockin' spring concert series and perfect snow."
A truckload of our best product will be dumped on 2nd Street and Stephen Avenue in the downtown core, across from Scotia Bank.
Schedule of Events:
10:30 a.m. – Truck will unload the fresh snow onto the walkway
11:30 a.m. – Snow Dump begins – we'll collect business cards from passersby
2 p.m. – Snow Dump ends
Sunshine's early bird pass sale starts Thursday, running until May 31st. It's the best value in the Rockies, and the best price of the year. An adult pass is just $659 and a student's pass a mere $499.
The 2009-10 season pass is loaded with extra benefits – including 20 per cent off food and beverages on the mountain (some restrictions apply). Plus, pass holders get rental discounts and savings at more than 40 area retailers, restaurants, hotels and entertainment spots in Banff and other Alberta locations.
Finally, Sunshine kicks off its Spring Concert Series this weekend. Performances include Juno Award winners The Stills, New Moon, George Canyon, Aaron Pritchett and BC/DC. For the full events schedule, visit skibanff.com.
