Snow dump at Sunshine

Untracked powder for all

It was a mid-season night’s dream, and skiers and boarders are reaping the benefits today of a sudden, overnight snow dump.

Sunshine Village received 20 cm of sublime, champagne powder in the past 24 hours, and the conditions are not to be missed.

“There’s 20cm, it’s untracked. It’s unbelievable!” says Doug Firby, associate director of communications for Sunshine Village Ski and Snowboard Resort. “Get out here.”

Clicking on the webcam link at SKIBANFF.COM reveals a true winter wonderland – the Village rooftops are covered in snow, while skiers and riders buzz excitedly around the lifts for their chance to make a few turns.

With all this white stuff – and snow pack now sitting at 150 cm – Alberta’s favourite ski and snowboard resort boasts the longest season in Canada. Sunshine Village is open until May 24, and the snow today means epic conditions moving into the spring.

The extra snow is just one more reason to grab the best bargain in the Rockies - Sunshine's Spring Pass Sale. Adults can ski from March 21 until May 24 for just $357, and students, seniors and mid-week passes are available for just $287.
