At Sunshine we spend a lot of time and energy planning events and activities that extend beyond the skiing and riding experience.
We believe that a big part of the employee experience is the opportunity to socialize and enjoy some of the incredible advantages that living in the Bow Valley has to offer. We plan a lot of great day and overnight skiing trips too!

Wages
Sunshine Village is a 7 month winter season employer. Our wages and benefits are competitive with other ski areas in Alberta. Regardless, the decision to work for Sunshine Village should not be for financial gain. What we can offer is the unique experience of working at one of Canada's premier ski resorts. In addition, employees can take away an impressive work reference along with the satisfaction of having completed a full seasonal work contract and hopefully leave with a few skiing and snowboarding tricks under their belt!
The majority of our positions start at $8.50 per hour. Employees who earn up to $9.00 per hour are eligible for a 50 cent merit increase after 3 months.
In addition, all staff who earn up to $11.25/hr receive an additional 75 cent per hour bonus, providing they complete their seasonal contract and abide by the Supervisor's rules of when they are required to finish. This usually translates into a bonus of approximately $700. Bonuses are paid out on final pay cheques.
Please Note: The wage and bonus information was for our 2007/08 ski season and has not been established for our 2008/09 season yet.
Employee Recognition Program
At Sunshine Village we like to recognize our employees for a job well done, and our Employee of the Week program does just that. Ballots are collected throughout the season from co-workers, management and guests. Through a selected committee the nominated employees are decided upon according to ballots/special achievements and working areas. These employees are nominated for going 'above and beyond' their usual duties or responsibilities. Our weekly winners are invited to a delicious buffet dinner in our Lookout Bistro, where they are treated to dinner, drinks, speeches on their behalf and a few surprises. A monthly winner is also selected from this esteemed group of employees.
