DISHWASHER
Maintains a clean and sanitary working environment. Cleans and stacks cooking utensils, and tableware.
Essential Functions:
- Essential part of the kitchen brigade in this back of house role
- Responsible for cleaning and maintaining the kitchen and deep cleaning the equipment and working areas
- Assists with routine preparatory tasks
Experience/Requirements:
- Able to work a physical, fast paced job for all of shift
- Completes tasks as quickly as safely practical
- Safety and WHMIS training an asset
- No specific experience required
COOK
Completes the preparation, cooking and service of food for the Kitchen department in a safe and hygienic manner. Reports to the Sous Chef.
Essential Functions:
- Preparing, cleaning and assembling food with correct taste, temperature and visual appeal
- Maintains cleanliness of the kitchen area
- Maintains food safety temperature logs and HACCP logs with direction from Lead Cook and Sous Chef
- Completes assigned tasks as quickly as is safely practical
Experience/Requirements:
- We are looking for aspiring culinarians looking to learn a skill or with basic experience. Willing to train.
- The ability to complete assigned tasks while maintaining communication with Sous Chef and kitchen supervisor
- Safety and WHMIS training an asset
COOK 1/LEAD COOK
Participates in the preparation, cooking, and service of food for the department. Supervises and coordinates the activities for Cooks, Prep Cooks, and Porters. Reports to the Sous Chef.
Essential Functions:
- Maintains the area in a clean and safe manner.
- Ensures the safe operation of kitchen equipment and environment by checking for and reporting hygiene and safety hazards to Sous Chef
- Maintains HACCP logs
- Produces food with correct taste, temperature and visual appeal.
- Demonstrates a thorough understanding of all menus, recipes and standards for the area
- Supervises Cooks, Prep Cooks and Dishwashers
Experience/Requirements:
- The ability to lead a team through production of assigned tasks while maintaining communication with Sous Chef
- Effective communication with managers, employees. The ability to use special kitchen equipment, follow production guidelines and interpret recipes.
- 2-4 years of kitchen experience
- Experience supervising staff
- Safety and WHMIS training an asset
